In my undergrad classes, it was clearly defined in the syllabus what grade point was the cutoff. This is my first semester in grad school and one of my professors is grading based on number of students who will earn that letter grade. The professor let me know that I scored 6th in a class of 20 people and that I was only 1.5 points lower than the student in 5th place. I received a B+ in the class and I'm a little upset because I think that I should have earned higher marks for this ranking.
If you could (kindly) share your opinion about if this seems to be a fair grading scheme or not I would appreciate it. I'm not trying to beg for something I didn't earn but I want to make sure my grade accurately reflects how well I did in the class.
