Okay, so, I'm currently in college for a degree in Information Technology with a Data Analytics concentration from a reputable public college in Colorado, with a 3.0+ GPA. I've done relatively well here, but my college experience I think would've been a lot better were I had been forced to take less classes.
Education is the only business that can get away with forcing you to take classes that are totally unrelated to why you are there. Political Science majors shouldn't be forced to take classes they don't want to other than Political Science. Business majors shouldn't be forced to take random science classes that have absolutely nothing to do with their majors. And the same goes with STEM/Prelaw/premed and any other program.
The student debt bubble with our 1.5 trillion + in the US is caused by mostly classes that have nothing to do with your "in major" classes. Out of my 120 credit hour bachelor's degree, only 40 credit hours of said bachelor's degree are "useful" in-major courses for the reason why I wanted to be in college in the first place.
