How do I verify if a USB drive is detected in Disk Utility on macOS?

  1. Open Disk Utility (Spotlight > type "Disk Utility").
  2. Look for the drive under External in the sidebar.
  3. If visible, check if it's mounted. If not, select the drive and click Mount.
  4. Optionally, run First Aid to check for errors.
