Cattle Egrets: A Symbol of Agricultural Harmony
Permalink

Cattle egrets (Bubulcus ibis) are medium-sized wading birds commonly found in grasslands, wetlands, and agricultural fields across the globe. Notable for their striking white plumage and yellowish-orange markings during breeding season, they are often seen in close association with livestock, such as cattle and buffalo. These birds are known for their symbiotic relationship with large herbivores, feeding on insects, ticks, and other small creatures stirred up by the animals' movements. Cattle egrets are highly adaptable, able to thrive in both tropical and temperate climates.
