If you enjoy world-building and tweaking every detail, learning the scenario editor is absolutely worth it. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the basics down, you’ll be able to create exactly the kind of maps and timelines you want—something you can’t always find in community packs.

That said, the community does offer a ton of high-quality content. Many of the custom maps on Mod DB and the workshop are polished, detailed, and can save you a lot of time if you just want to jump in and play. If you’re mainly looking for variety or historical accuracy, downloading packs is usually more efficient.

Honestly, it doesn’t have to be either/or. Trying out community maps is a great way to get inspiration, and working on your own scenarios can be a fun creative project on the side. If you’re even a little curious about making your own, I’d say give the editor a shot—you might end up enjoying it more than you expect. just get it https://ageofhistoryapk.org/  and enjoy.

Wonderful article. Thanks a whole lot for the breakdown you have given here. I am just still sort-of an illiterate about this topic. So this publication was really helpful to myself. My husband just launched his own ebook in this area and I think some things learned from your publication would enable everyone of us to give him the required support. Thanks! russian market

Hi everyone,

I’m torn between spending more time on the Age of History 2 scenario edito to build my own worlds or just downloading Age of History 2 custom map packs made by others. Do you think it’s better to invest in learning map creation, or does the community already provide enough good content through the Age of History 2 mod DB and Age of History II mod workshop? I’ve been checking the Age of History 2 Fandom wiki but I’d prefer real-world experiences.
