A friend of mine recently decided to study medicine abroad and started researching the Caribbean medical school cost before applying. She initially thought tuition would be the main expense, but then realized she also needs to plan for housing, food, transportation, books, insurance, travel, and other academic costs. She is now trying to build a realistic budget and compare programs fairly. If anyone has studied medicine in the Caribbean, which expenses surprised you the most? Were there any costs you wish you had planned for before starting your program?
