My high school is designing a new science facility and it has been decided that a single 'superlab' will be built. I teach AP Chem and Anatomy and Physiology 12. The science faculty have not been consulted and we have been told that the architects have decided this. We pride ourselves on a high-end experience for our students, the majority of our science teachers coming from specialist B.Sc.s and/or coming form industry.

What evidence is there to support superlabs over specialist labs in highschools?

Do you use a superlab? For what grades and how is it working out for you?
