How to install wire fence with wood posts? Putting up a wire fence with wooden posts is another viable option that is cost-effective and ensures protection. First, mark the path of the fence and place the wooden posts in positions spaced about 6–8 feet from one another. The holes should be dug to depths of at least 2 feet to provide the needed stability in regions with sandy soil.

Next, insert each wooden post into the prepared holes and make sure they are aligned horizontally. Pour the required amount of concrete in each hole so that the posts gain more stability. Let the posts stand in the prepared holes for 24–48 hours until they are solid enough to fix the fence wires.

Once they are firm enough, roll out the wire fencing along the marked path. Start fixing the wire to a corner post, using galvanized staples, and tighten the wire when going along each subsequent post. Using a fence stretcher will make the process faster and easier.
