Fallopian Tube Blockage
Permalink

Fallopian Tube Blockage is one of the common causes of female infertility. The fallopian tubes play a vital role in conception by carrying the egg from the ovaries to the uterus. When one or both tubes become blocked, the sperm may not be able to reach the egg, making natural pregnancy difficult.

What Causes Fallopian Tube Blockage?

Several factors can lead to blocked fallopian tubes, including:

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
  • Previous pelvic or abdominal surgery
  • Endometriosis
  • Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) infection
  • Scar tissue and adhesions
  • Hydrosalpinx (fluid-filled fallopian tubes)

Symptoms of Fallopian Tube Blockage

Many women with Fallopian Tube Blockage may not experience noticeable symptoms. However, some may experience:

  • Difficulty conceiving
  • Chronic pelvic pain
  • Painful menstrual periods
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Unusual vaginal discharge
  • Pain during intercourse
